Members Cooperative Credit Union announces the following promotions and new hires.

Connie Carter has been promoted to Manager of Internal Audit and Compliance. Her department is responsible for reviewing the credit union’s accounting procedures and records for regulatory compliance and accuracy. Carter earned her Bachelor of Accounting degree at UMD prior to becoming a licensed CPA. Prior to coming to the credit union she served as the Internal Auditor for the Duluth Public Schools; Auditor for the accounting firms of KMPG Peat Marwick and Eikill and Schilling, LTD; and was an Information Systems Consultant for McGladrey and Pullen.  Carter has extensive experience in the financial services industry, including auditing and providing consulting services for financial institutions.

Elizabeth Hartman has been promoted to Mortgage Loan Processor at the credit union’s Cloquet Office. She will provide support services to members in all phases of the home mortgage process from initial applications to post-closing. Hartman is a graduate of University of Minnesota Morris with a degree in Financial Management. She began her post college career at the credit union as a Member Service Representative, and organized intramural events and children’s activities while completing her education.

Hillary Hedin has been promoted to Mortgage Loan Processor at the credit union’s Spirit Valley Office. She will provide support services to members in all phases of the home mortgage process from initial applications to post-closing. Hedin was previously a Member Service Representative at MCCU, and has served as a Senior Case Manager at Workman Financial Group.

Laurie Kelley has joined MCCU as their Real Estate Loan Manager. She will be responsible for overseeing the real estate loan operations at the credit union. Kelley graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a degree in Business Administration. Her previous professional experience includes 11 years of mortgage banking working in the capacity of Closer, Processor, Originator and Operations Manager.

Molly Knute has been promoted to Real Estate Loan Officer at the credit union’s Cloquet Office. She will serve as an originator for in-house and secondary-market mortgages offered by the credit union. Knute has been employed at the credit union for 13 years serving as a Member Service Representative, Consumer Loan Processor, and Mortgage Loan Processor prior to her promotion.

Karla Miller has joined MCCU as a Business Lending Officer.  She will assist members in the Cloquet, Aitkin and McGregor areas with business loans, deposits and merchant card processing.  Miller received a degree in Accounting from Minnesota State University.  She has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry including Mortgage lending and 7 years in Business Banking.

Caroline Thorsvik was promoted to the position of Internal Auditor Assistant.  She will provide assistance with financial compliance and operational audits within the credit union.  Thorsvik continues a 24 year career at MCCU, having served in the credit union’s Lending Department and supervising the credit union’s Pine Tree Plaza office.
