Grand Rapids, MN – Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital Home Care recently completed a mandatory review by the Minnesota Department of Health, Health Regulation Division to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. The rigorous three-day review process included a number of home visits, review of patient charts, review of personnel files, and review of policies and procedures. The reviewers cited zero violations during their most recent survey.
“We usually anticipate that the reviewers will find something for us to improve on while they are here for their survey, but I was incredibly pleased that they did not site any deficiencies,” says Katie Troumbly, RN, Home Care Manager. “A lot of work goes into preparing for the survey and it is usually a very intense few days when they are here, so to receive a ‘clean bill of health’ is very rewarding.”
“The entire Home Care team should feel very proud of their accomplishment. It is very rare to receive zero citations on a survey. This team has worked very hard to make sure they are compliant with all state and federal regulations and has worked especially hard on medication reconciliation with their patients since the last survey. The staff is very passionate about providing the best possible care to their patients, and these results show that.“ says Sandy Lenarz, RN, VP of Hospital Services.
