Press Releases Donald Westfall hired as Ironworld Museum Director
CHISHOLM, Minn. – The Ironworld Development Corporation (IDC) Board of Directors announces that Donald Westfall has been hired as Museum Director of Ironworld, a museum, education center and entertainment venue in northeastern Minnesota. Westfall will oversee Ironworld’s exhibits, collections and educational programs. “Donald is a vital addition to our staff,” said Mike Andrews, Interim CEO of Ironworld. “He brings a wealth of experience in museum operations, including exhibit development and installation, collections care and historical research, among other areas of expertise.” Westfall was previously employed as executive director of the Mid-America Air Museum in Liberal, KS. He also served as executive director of the Northfield Historical Society, manager of the Charles A. Lindbergh State Historic Site in Little Falls, and curator of the Fort Gibson State Historic Site in Oklahoma. “I look forward to becoming acquainted with this region and learning more about the Iron Range,” Westfall said. “As a museum and educational center, Ironworld has a great deal of potential to impact local residents and visitors from around the world. This area has a compelling story to tell and Ironworld is the ideal venue for showcasing that heritage.” Westfall has a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Indian Studies from the University of Minnesota, and a Master of Arts degree in History from Oklahoma State University.
