Press Releases Duluth airport receives $6 million grant for new terminal building and aviation safety
Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar today announced that vital infrastructure and safety funding has been awarded to Duluth International Airport from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). "This funding ensures that Duluth's International Airport continues to be among the safest and most reliable in the nation," Klobuchar said. "This funding will have a direct impact on the safety and convenience of those living in northeastern Minnesota." A $6,079,009 grant given to the City of Duluth for the Duluth International Airport will provide funding for the construction of a new terminal building and for safety rehabilitation improvements to the runway area. Since May, the City of Duluth has received over $7.3 million in grants from the FAA to ensure that Duluth International Airport has the resources necessary to serve the people of northeastern Minnesota.
