Press Releases TechFest 2008 'A Decade of Technology' at UMD Friday
The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) will present "UMD Techfest 2008--A Decade of Technology" on Friday, March 28, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Kirby Student Center Ballroom (3rd floor). The public, and students of all ages, are cordially invited. "Techfest 2008" is a special year, for it will showcase a decade of rapidly advancing technology at UMD. Current (and some past) UMD faculty and staff will demonstrate the latest cutting-edge technologies along with some "then and now" presentations, comparing methods or processes from 1998 along with their present day equivalents. Twenty-five booths will represent how many of the departments and disciplines at UMD use modern technology to teach, to learn, and to share information. “Techfest 2008” presentations include: Evolution of the Teaching of Histology Through Changing Technology by the Departments of Anatomy, Microbiology and Pathology Mac(s) Through the Years, by UMD ITSS Emergency Preparedness Safety and Security at UMD by IMD ITSS, UMD Police Department and other UMD Depts.
