The Arrowhead Filmmakers’ Co-operative and the Minnesota State Film and TV Board will be holding meetings in the Zeitgeist Teatro Zuccone, 222 E. Superior St., at 6 p.m. on Oct. 22.
The event will give local filmmakers and film crew members a chance to network with others and to discuss opportunities available to work together and grow the professionalism of the film work being done in the Arrowhead region.
At 6 p.m., Minnesota State Film and TV Board Executive Director Melodie Bahan and Upper Minnesota Film Office Director Riki McManus will host a town hall meeting. They will discuss the financial and experiential opportunities that the Minnesota State Film and TV Board offers. They will also share information about other film-related projects in Minnesota.
At 7 p.m., a newly formed group, the Arrowhead Filmmakers’ Co-op, will hold its first public meeting. The co-op is asking local filmmakers and film production personnel to help prioritize its goals and set working projects. It will ask attendees to vote on the first wave of its projects. The co-op is open to additional ideas but intends to begin with a variety of ideas for consideration, including a regional film service that providers directory, film equipment to be purchased for rental, insurance, food catering, legal assistance, DVD manufacturing and film distribution. Everyone is welcome and will have a vote in the choices the Co-op will be making.
