Nonprofits and community groups are invited to a conversation and workshop on local grant funding and resources for organizations in Eveleth and on the Iron Range. 

The event starts at 3 p.m. June 20 in the Conference Room of the Mesabi Trail Building, 111 Station 44 Road, Eveleth. There is no fee for admission, but those who are interested are asked to register in advance at or at, the website of the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation. 

At the workshop, representatives of the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board, the Northland Foundation, the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, the Eveleth Area Community Foundation and the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation will discuss: 

• Sources available locally for grants to nonprofits 

• Funding priorities of local grant makers 

• Application deadlines and steps for grant applications 

• Tips for successful applications 

The event is sponsored by the Eveleth Area Community Foundation. It is designed to motivate prospective grant recipients in advance of the Eveleth Area Community Foundation Fund’s Aug. 1 deadline for grant applications. Though the final grant application deadline is Aug. 1, preliminary letters of inquiry are due no later than July 18.
