North Shore Bank announced Jon Thompson graduated from the first class of the Minnesota Bankers Association (MBA) Leadership Development Academy. The year-long program, which graduated 20 bankers in its inaugural year, develops the skills bankers need as they prepare for critical leadership roles in their banks.
“The MBA Leadership Development Academy requires a significant commitment to personal and professional growth” said MBA President/CEO Joe Wit,. “The graduates of this intense and challenging program should be very proud of this accomplishment, as completing this program will help them grow as individuals and bank leaders.”
The MBA launched the Leadership Development Academy to provide specialized training for the next generation of Minnesota’s bank leaders.
“This program provides us the opportunity to strengthen our leadership capacity and grow our future leaders,” said Ken Johnson, president and CEO of North Shore Bank. “We are very proud of Jon for completing this comprehensive program, and we look forward to the positive impact this experience will have on the future of our bank and the communities we serve.”
Thompson is a business banker at North Shore Bank and has been with the bank since 2007. He graduated from UMD in 2001 with a degree in Business Administration, majoring in Organizational Management and earning a Marketing minor. Thompson is an active member of the Duluth Chamber and is a Leadership Duluth Class of 2013 Graduate, Chamber Ambassador, and is involved with the FUSE program. He’s also active with the Hermantown Chamber and serves as treasurer and board member of the Damiano Center.
