American Bank of the North announces staff addition, promotions

American Bank of the North announced Rob Marwick has joined its staff as regional president of Mt. Iron operations. He has more than 25 years of experience in commercial and retail banking. He oversees American Bank of the North branches in Biwabik, Cook, Expressway and Orr.

“Rob’s proven experience in the banking industry, coupled with his strategic thinking and innovate leadership, are exactly what we were looking for in a new regional president,” said Bryan Rude, CEO of American Bank of the North. “We are thrilled to add him to our team and to further strengthen American Bank for the future.”

A native of Virginia, Marwick began his banking career in 1986 as a business banker with Norwest Bank in Duluth, advancing to business banking manager and market president positions with Norwest, which became Wells Fargo. In 2003, he relocated to Wyoming as market president for Community First, which became Bank of the West. He oversaw multiple Bank of the West branches and was named senior vice president/regional manager for Bank of the West, overseeing 21 retail branch locations with assets of approximately $700 million, deposits of $650 million and loans of $150 million. In 2008, he returned to the Iron Range and took on the position of senior vice president of Queen City Federal Savings Bank/Frandsen Bank & Trust.

Chris Deadrick has been promoted to Grand Rapids Regional President of American Bank of the North.He previously served as vice president, commercial lender in their Mountain Iron region.

Deadrick will be responsible for overseeing banking activities in the Grand Rapids region, including planning, growth, and increasing market share.

“We look forward to having Chris serve our customers in his new leadership role in Grand Rapids,” Rude said. “Chris provides more than 22 years of experience in the banking industry, and close to 10 of those years has been with our company. His previous banking experience, coupled with his strong business development skills will further strengthen the bank and add to our strong leadership team, across the communities we serve.”

Regional President Marvin Vuicich will now oversee American Bank of the North operations in the Chisholm, Hibbing downtown, Hibbing Wal-Mart, Nashwauk, and Calumet branches.
