Sterling Bank has added Douglas J. Raether, M.D. to its Board of Directors. Raether, a native of Fall Creek and a graduate of Eau Claire Regis High School, has been practicing medicine in the area for nearly three decades. His experience and long-tenure of familiarity with the area will provide valuable insight and perspective, Sterling officials said. As a member of the Board, Raether will help ensure sound policies and objectives are in place to safeguard the best-interests of the Bank’s shareholders, depositors and community. “I have been very impressed with the friendliness, professionalism and management at Sterling Bank.” Raether said. “It will be an honor to be involved with their continued growth in the Barron County area and beyond.” Raether completed undergraduate studies at Marquette University prior to earning his M.D. at the Medical College of Wisconsin. After completing a residency in Anesthesiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals, Raether moved to Rice Lake with his wife Sue and their three daughters. He began his medical practice at Lakeview Medical Center 29 years ago and is currently employed by the Marshfield Clinic. In addition to his medical practice, Raether has also been involved with commercial real estate development, primarily in Rice Lake. He served on the Board of Directors at Lakeview Medical Center for 18 years and the Board of Education for the Rice Lake Area School District for 11 years. Previous Newsmakers Articles:
