UnitedHealth Group Inc. said Wednesday it will buy the physician group of DaVita Inc. in an all-cash, $4.9 billion deal, the latest step by the insurance giant to expand its front-line health care business.

The deal, which UnitedHealth (NYSE: UNH) expects to close next year, includes nearly 300 clinics, a half-dozen outpatient surgical centers and 2,200 medical staff in six states. MSP Business Journal
