Housing Expo Saturday as housing stocks improve
Story posted Friday at 10:35 a.m.

3/7/2013

With the real estate market on the rise, the Housing Counseling Program, through Catholic Community Services, is hosting the Housing Expo Saturday. Kristen Vake reports.

Housing Counseling Program Director Sandy Carlson says this is an event that brings housing professionals together all under one roof.

“People can come speak with lending folks, with realtors, with cabinet companies, with countertop companies. It’s a time where renters can get information about available rental property. It’s a place where people can access information that’s necessary for them to improve their housing situation whether that’s being a home buyer, a seller, or a renter.”

There will be booths all throughout the Mariner Mall but there will also be three different workshops held throughout the day.

“The one at eleven is called True Space Planning and it’s a workshop that focuses on home design and function. At 12 o’clock there is down payment assistant information for new home buyers who are looking to find out where they may be able to get assistance to help them with the down payment portion of the purchase. Then at 1 o’clock is the seminar called “It’s a Great Time to Buy or Sell” so for both buyers and sellers there is a workshop to deal with the needs of both the buyer and the seller.”

Whether you are a first time home buyer, college student or a renter, Carlson says this expo is designed for everyone.

“We have over thirty five exhibitors right now and ranging from home businesses selling jewelry, selling chocolate to counter top companies to window companies. It’s really a great variety and certainly a time when anyone can come and get good information.”

The 17th annual Housing Expo will be held this Saturday from 10am-3pm at the Mariner Mall in Superior. If you would like to sign up to be an exhibitor call Sandy Carlson at 218-481-3213 before 2pm on Friday.
