P&R Properties Twin Ports on Thursday displayed early progress on the construction of its third housing development in Superior.
The Duluth company is building its “320 North” luxury apartments at 320 F Street, which is just south of the city’s new Hampton Inn. Its 89 units will offer a selection of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. The building will include a fitness center, garage, dog run, cable television, Internet “and there will be great views of Lake Superior,” said spokeswoman Megan Holsclaw.
Units will be on the larger size, she said, with the one-bedroom apartments offering 750 square feet and two-bedroom units having 1,010 square feet. All will feature private balconies. The $14 million building will have sidewalk access to the Osaugie Trail.
“Superior is in need of new housing and people are really excited about it,” Holsclaw said. “There’s nothing else like it around here.”
P&R already has completed the Onyx and Village apartment buildings, which are fully rented. Several tenants have already signed agreements for apartments at 320 North, which is being offered at market rates.
The developer is acting as its own general contractor. Financing is through National Bank of Commerce. Completion is expected in July and August of 2019.
