The final touches are being put in place at the Essentia Health-Grand Rapids Clinic, 1542 Golf Course Road, after a $14 million expansion.  The new clinic space, adjacent to the existing clinic, opened Monday.

The renovation brings the total number of exam rooms to 25, from the original six, allowing for quicker access to care.  Once open, the existing clinic space will begin a remodel and reopen for patients in early June.  Along with more access to primary care, new specialty services will be offered, including cardiology, podiatry and orthopedics.   An on-site retail pharmacy, complete with drive-thru service, will also open in April.

The new clinic will continue to offer walk-in care Monday and Thursday from 5 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Our staff is so excited about the new space,” says Operations Director Nancy Buescher.  “During the planning, they had a chance to weigh in and share many ideas, including the naming of the hallways.”  Those hallways in the 25,000 square-foot facility are named to capture the spirit of the community – Northern Lights, Sunset and Blue Waters.

The public will have a chance to see those hallways, and the 25 exam rooms, at an open house scheduled for June 19, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the clinic.
