Duluth law firms merge

From left, top row: Tom Thibodeau, Steve Reyelts and JD Feriancek. Bottom row from left, Matt Thibodeau and Dave Scouton.

Thibodeau, Johnson and Feriancek, PLLP and the Reyelts Law Firm announced the formation of Trial Group North.  The merger pairs firms that have similar values and complementary practices to better serve clients in Northeastern Minnesota and throughout the Midwest.  Their main office will remain in Duluth but they have expanded their services to include a location in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area to better serve all of our clients’ needs and expectations.  The new firm will continue to practice throughout the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin and North Dakota.

Thibodeau, Johnson and Feriancek was founded by attorney Tom Thibodeau who has practiced in Duluth for over 50 years.  He will remain with the firm on an “of counsel” basis.

Steve Reyelts began practicing in Duluth in 1978 with Halverson, Watters, Downs, Reyelts & Bateman. He will be a founding partner of the new firm.

Attorney JD Feriancek will be the managing partner of the firm. He began his practice in Duluth in 1993.

Attorney Matt Thibodeau is also a founding partner and has been with Thibodeau, Johnson and Feriancek since 1997. Also a founding partner is attorney Dave Scouton, who has practiced since 2000 and previously worked with Foley & Mansfield in Minneapolis.

Prior to the merger, the firms represented many Fortune 500 companies, national insurance carriers and various regional businesses. The new firm will handle the spectrum of civil litigation including workers’ compensation, asbestos, business, liquor liability, professional negligence, complex products liability and employment claims.

The company will include 11 attorneys and 11 paralegals and administrative staff.
