Flooding that occurred on March 13 caused damage that could keep the Radisson Hotel Duluth Harborview closed until May 1, the company said Wednesday. A water main break under Superior Street near the hotel caused "substantial flooding" in the basement level, affecting the power supply, General Manager Jeff Briner said in a news release. He said the hotel relocated the majority of its guests to other area hotels and is working with the Duluth hotel and business community to relocate persons having future room and banquet reservations. "Hotel ownership and management teams are working as quickly as possible to determine the extent of the damage caused by the flooding and what equipment and work will be necessary in order to open the hotel. As of March 20th, the Radisson Duluth Harborview and JJ Astor's will remain closed until May 1st," Briner said. "The safety and welfare of hotel guests and team members is first and foremost in determining the open date." Previous Daily Briefing Articles:
