The six-month closure of North Tower Avenue will be address at two meetings scheduled on Tuesday, when updated information will be provided and questions solicited from building owners and occupants. Also at the meetings the Superior Business Improvement District will distribute its “We Dig Downtown Superior Toolkits” to each affected business. Included are posters, contact information, marketing tips, detour maps and other information to help businesses and their customers during construction.
The meetings will be from 7:30 a.m.-9 a.m. and noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Lake Superior Room, Wisconsin Department of Transportation, 1701 N. Fourth St.. The public may enter adjacent to the North Fourth Street parking lot (DMV public lobby). The meeting site is wheelchair accessible.
The reconstruction is a major rebuild that will require complete closure of Tower Avenue for about six months beginning in April. It will include utility improvements and a pedestrian-friendly streetscape complete with landscaping, benches, new parking and other enhancements to help strengthen the commercial and residential viability of the North Tower Avenue corridor.
