AAR completes first Duluth job

12/17/2012

AAR (NYSE: AIR) completed and delivered its first aircraft Friday following work at the company's Duluth maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility.

AAR has created more than 100 jobs in Duluth to date and is working to fill additional openings for 60 jobs at the facility. At full capacity, the 188,000-square-foot facility will employ as many as 225. It was originally built for Northwest Airlines, which in 2005 ceased Duluth maintenance operations.

Advanced Minnesota

“We appreciate the dedication of the leadership team and the talented workforce who delivered this first aircraft,” said Dany Kleiman, AAR’s Aviation Services Group Vice President – Repair and Engineering. “We have made a significant investment in this facility and received great support from the City, the local community and our regulators. The company is excited about the prospects for this business and becoming a more important part of the Duluth community.”

AAR also provides MRO services from facilities in Indianapolis, Miami, Oklahoma City and Hot Springs, Ark.
