Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. (NYSE: CLF) announced three role changes for its area management team. Jim Korpi was named director, growth initiatives, North American Iron Ore. Currently general manager of Northshore Mining, he will focus on executing key components of the North American iron ore business unit’s strategy and driving projects to support growth initiatives. Korpi brings more than 30 years of experience to his new role. Ed LaTendresse was named general manager, Northshore Mining. Currently general manager of Hibbing Taconite, he also will maintain certain management responsibilities for the Hibbing operation to ensure business continuity. He brings more than 35 years of experience and leadership to his new role. Jack Croswell will assume the role of interim general manager, Hibbing Taconite. Croswell, currently senior area manager of mining for Hibbing Taconite, has more than 30 years with the company and will lead the operation until a permanent general manager is appointed. “These men have long provided outstanding leadership to our operations in Minnesota and we hope to build on their successes by transitioning them into roles that will further strengthen Cliffs’ North American business unit,” said Terry Fedor, vice president, Cliffs’ US Iron Ore Operations.
