17th Annual Joel Labovitz Entrepreneurial Success Awards celebrate National Small Business Week

Duluth — Presented by the University of Minnesota Duluth Center for Economic Development, the Joel Labovitz Entrepreneurial Success Awards Program recognizes entrepreneurs and business owners from throughout the Twin Ports and northeastern Minnesota.

Each year the US Small Business Administration (SBA) designates a week to highlight entrepreneurs and small businesses.

The awards categories include Micro-Entrepreneur, Emerging Entrepreneur, Established Entrepreneur, Mature Entrepreneur and Innovation. Thirty-six entrepreneurs and business owners have been nominated for these awards. In addition to these awards there will also be several other awards presented at this event.

“This is the only regional ceremony that honors entrepreneurs who contribute so much to our economy and our communities. It is also an excellent opportunity to network with business and community leaders,” says Elaine Hansen, director of UMD CED.
