Superior has been named one of the Best Small Cities to Start a Business in a 2017 study conducted by WalletHub.  It was ranked 16 out of 1,200 small cities with populations between 25,000 and 100,000.

WalletHub used three key dimensions to determine the rankings: business environment, access to resources and business costs.  Superior scored highest in the Business Environment rank with a 32 and received an overall score of 48.39.

“For years, our business community has seen the advantages of doing business in Superior, which is why visionary entrepreneurs are starting new businesses here all the time,” said Superior Mayor Jim Paine. “It’s great that an objective, national business analyst has now also recognized Superior’s advantages.”

Other regional cities were also ranked, including West Fargo, Grand Forks, St. Cloud, Moorhead, Wausau and Duluth. Duluth was ranked 1,171.
