PolyMet Mining Corp. reported a $7.79 million first quarter loss compared with losing $3.32 million during the comparable year-ago period. The company is in the development-stage of the NorthMet copper-nickel-precious metals ore-body near Hoyt Lakes and has not yet developed a revenue stream.  

During coming months, PolyMet’s hopes to 

  • Obtain afavorable decision by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the Final Record of Decision and 404 wetlands permit under the Clean Water Act. 
  • Receive favorable decisions on final state permits (Permit to Mine, air, water, and dam safety permits). 
  • Complete its project implementation plan, and 
  • Execute aa construction finance plan, subject to typical conditions precedent such as receipt of key permits.
